After being back in the country for a week, Jason got itchy feet and decided it was time to jump back on a plane. This time to the mighty Waikato to attend the National Fieldays at the Mystery Creek Events Centre just south of Hamilton. Tagging along was the newest member of the Element Raw Materials Ltd team, Lincoln University graduate Josh Morrison who has taken on the role of Sales and Trading Executive to assist JR in agricultural and industrial sectors. Here he can be seen with New Zealand's biggest man!

With 130,000 through the gate over 4 days, this is the biggest agricultural convention in the Southern Hemisphere and the Element team had their work cut out for them. It rained and poured through Tuesdays set up and most of Wednesday, the first day of the event. Luckily, they were located inside the Innovations Centre which kept their heads dry and busy with hundreds of visitors each day. The centre showcases developing and commercialized technologies that offer solutions to acute challenges within the agri industry.

Element Raw Materials were showcasing two separate products at the Fieldays, so they were twice as busy! On the left hand side of the stall was RLF's seed primer technology BSN which delivers nutrients inside the seed coat to ensure complete nutrient delivery and minimal loss through the environment. Along with the Integrated Fertilizer Management program developed by RLF, the seed primer was accompanied by foliar fertilizers such as Pasture Plus and Plasma Fusion. Highly concentrated NPK liquid fertilizers with trace elements to promote plant and animal nutrition.

Along with RLF product, Element also launched their own branded product GreenMan Bioherbicide. This was the real star of the show, a broad spectrum non selective herbicide derived from canola oil. The natural derivative is nonhazardous and biodegradable, which really sparked the attention of people who used glyphosate based sprays because research finds that it is not as harmless as we once thought. When compared with other natural oil based herbicides, it has proved more effective, less harmful to use, and at a lower dosage rate. It is new to the scene but after following up interest at the Fieldays, it sold out! Not to worry, we have sent for reinforcements and there will be "GreenMen" on our shores about 4 weeks from the date of this Blog.

The 4 days at the Fieldays were incredibly positive for Element and the products. In terms of brand awareness, we delivered the marketing package of GreenMan and RLF hundreds of times. Demand for GreenMan has been measured and we are happy to announce that a 4L pack will be available soon, due to specific demand at the Fieldays. 20L and 200L drums will also be available.
