January 2016 Barley Trial Update
This trial was the first RLF IFM (integrated fertiliser management) in New Zealand to show the benefits of seed priming and NDS technology combined.
The following trial was conducted by NZ Arable and was visited by New Zealand's leading agronomist.
It was carried out in a Barley crop located in Yaldhurst, Canterbury.
There were 4 different treatments (no treatment, RLF Foliar only, RLF BSN only and RLF BSN plus Foliar), 4 replicas of each.
Result showed that the RLF treatments had improved establishment and growth benefits. Half of the RLF trial site showed a 10% increase in yield.
The control Barley had more ground surface area present and more yellowing of the plant while the treated crop was thicker with less yellowing.
