December 2015 'Totara Estate' BSN On Wheat Trial
Element Raw Materials conducted a BSN Seed primer trial with well-known Oamaru-based cereal grower Peter.
BSN fertilises the seed by priming it with the optimum level of nutrients. BSN is engineered to safety deliver the nutrients into the seed embryo (imbiding). With the optimum nutrient in the seed, germination, early growth and young plant formation is directly supported through the first 3-4 weeks of development.
The trial was conducted in wheat grown on Peter's farm, Totara Estate. Application rate was 5L/T of BSN.
When walking into the paddock, there was a significant difference present in the crop height and density. We dug out roots to show the significant difference in the root density present.
The roots on the left had no treatment while the roots on the right were primed with BSN.
This farmer went on to repeatedly use BSN and is now trialing Plasma Fusion; a specific ultra-foliar fertiliser that is highly concentrated and applies the optimum amount of 12 nutrients.
